Honestly I am sick of the Tea Party, sick i tell you.
Honestly, I don't think Christians have it all right soemittmes. Our preconceievd notions are sometimes wrong compared to Scripture.
And honestly, God wants you.

A Poem a Felt Like Psoting Randomly

Save me form myself
I belong to You
Rid me of my trash I have no way
Be my All in All
And save me now.
Be my true Beloved and I
Will not sway
Give me my life so i can lose it for
You.
Let me be a Light in this daark
messed up world. Show me what your
will is for My Life.
Give Me a hope
in which none can fight.
Be my escape from this place
Save me fromyself and make me safe.
I wanna be yours so that you will be mine.
I know you want me to sacrifice my life.
Give me Your heart for the lost
So i may guide them home.
Save me...
Be my escape...

More is what

What is more

More is what
What we make life is
Freedom from the dead souls
More is what we need
Less is what we need

Poem by a person in my online school

This poem really hit home with me. 1. because i am a former cutter. and 2. it sumarises all hope in Chirst.

Deeper Than Her Scars
Her story is covered
by long sleeves and bracelets
But sometimes people see it
Just in pieces and in bits
She’s tried so hard to hide
but sometimes they catch a glimpse
Of the history she’s written on her wrists

She’s carved it into her arms
Cause she could never speak in words
The pain expressed by scars
Why has nobody heard?
Why is it so hard to stay,
And so easy to run away from her?

Her torment never truly fades away
Every night she’s left here trying to pray
Trying to find herself…
But ending up with nothing to say
What should she do with what is left?
Do she even have anything left?

Jesus take her, hold her, hear her.
Draw her to the love you offer
show her when her eyes can’t see
that you have never left her
Let her press her hands into your wounds
and remember you bear what should be hers

She can’t move, she can’t feel
Nothing She’s faced even seems real…
But the numbness doesn’t own her
She’s not controlled by a knife
And even when she wants to give up on life
Jesus, you’ve already been there…

So when she’s desperate
When she’s struggling to breathe
But still pastes on a smile for the world
And still pretends to believe
When she struggles to express
What she’s suppressed for so long
Whisper in her darkness

Remind her gently saying
“I am stronger than your pain,
Deeper than your scars
Higher than your shame
Bigger than your guilt
Forgiving of your past
And loving you every day
just because I choose to.”

Jesus never let her forget
that your wounds are enough
and your scars run deeper than hers ever could…

It is all a Dream

Here is a story I wrote for my writing class this year. Whaddya think??

ALL A BAD DREAM

She was. Is. And will be for ever and ever and ever. Amen. But for now she is just rigid.
She is rigid. Standing still takes skill, but standing rigid is even harder. Her bed sags slightly under her weight, small though it may be. And her body occasionally twitches, against her will. But she is still trying. And that is all that matters.
Her name, though common and unimportant is important to her. Janna. Janna Miriam Slavik. But she goes by Janna, just Janna.
“ Janna!” That is her mother, shouting loudly to her from the bottom of the stairs.
“ Janna!”
Janna grimaces. “ What!” she snaps. Thankfully her mother does not catch the tone, the door being a muffler of sorts.
“ Wuldja cem down please?” Her mother’s accent noticeable. But unidentifiable.
“ Sure.“ Sigh. Always like this. Always. She is never allowed to just be left alone.
She stomps down the stairs to where her mother is standing. Her mother a short, slender, woman, who right now is standing with her hands on her hips.
“ Why is you not dressed?”
“ What do you mean?”
“ Ye is steel in yer pajama’s.” Sigh. “ Get dressed. Now.”
Janna stomps upstairs. Her mother turns her back and is gone to the kitchen. Janna goes into her room, closes the door, and slides to a seated position on the floor, back to door. She grimaces. Why? She wonders, why. But she has no idea what she wants to know. With more sighing she stands and walks, actually ambles, over to her closet. Clothes, clothes, and more clothes. What to wear today? She knew this mattered to her mom. She could care less.
A dress? Neh. Shorts and tank-top? Nope. Jeans? Why not. Tee-shirt? Sure, again, why not. She was bored.
Having dressed she walked downstairs. The windows were still locked and sealed. Her mom was in the kitchen, whistling. Janna took a step.
“ ‘ello honey.” Her mom smiled.
She smiled back, strained. Her mom turned back to her thing.
Janna crept silently outside-

Freedom-
Freedom-
And she ran-
Ran from home-
Mom-
Life-
To freedom-
And ultimately to…the park.
She loved the park like no other place in the world. It was serene. Peaceful. Silent. And lonely. She loved being alone, but not being lonely. And the park was lonely, but she was alone with other people, the few people, who were alone as well. The young man in spandex running suit. Creepy.
The old woman, with disheveled hair and a drug-addled face, who fed the birds. Lonely.
The single mom who looked pregnant and young. Innocence.
You could tell so much about people by watching them she had learned. Janna walked further into the park. She found her tree and slept. And thought.

******
“ Young lady! Wake up!” Someone was shouting at her. Good Lord. She slowly woke up, confused, lost.
“ What?“ she slurred, tiredly.
“ You gotta git home.” Said a toothless mouth.
“ Mmk.” She slid from the branch. And walked home-
To slavery-
Fear-
Loss-
But she needed to get home, home to her mom and dad.
Her steps were slow and tired, but she eventually made it home.
Crash-
Crash-
The tinkle of breaking glass-
The sound of frantic feet-
Janna began to run-
No-
Crash-
Tinkle-
She opened the door-
She couldn’t see anything, but she could hear. And hear was what she did. Swearing, screaming, a calm voice, soothing. Her mom was yelling at her dad. Janna walked in slowly, leaving the door open behind her.
She went through the kitchen which was covered in broken glass. The windows were still locked and sealed. This time though there were glass shards there. Grief, what did her mom do now? She continued to walk, gingerly, crunchily. Silence. She panicked. Had her mom heard.
“ You worthless dog!” No. She hadn’t heard. Still swearing, and still trying to calm her. Daddy must be in trouble, she thought.
That is when it all fell apart. The living room was a nightmare. Like hell had decided that being below wasn’t good enough and relocated. Her dad, daddy, was behind the couch, ducking occasionally as her mom threw things at him.
Her mom added to the idea that hell had relocated. She was sweating, soaked. Her clothes clung to her, damp with sweat. Her face was red and streaming with sweat. And she was cursing. Cursing like no one’s business.
Then her dad saw her-
Blinked-
Smiled-
And yelled-
“ Get the heck outa here!” He never swore.
Janna shook her head-
“Now.”-
She saw her dad’s face and realized he was serious. Dead serious. She ran. Through the kitchen, out the door…and to safety. Where was safety. As she an down her street, towards safety, lights began to turn on and people became to come to their doors.
It was very dramatic, but she didn’t notice or care. Mommy, daddy…chaos…mommy, daddy. Mommy. Daddy. Mommy, why? Daddy, why? Mommy. Daddy. And though she sometimes got frustrated with her parents she still loved them. Despite their faults. Mommeee. Daddeee. She felt like a child.

*****

The park was cold. It would have been colder had she not bartered a blanket off of some lady, for she had been a lady. Or at least Janna thought so. She could be wrong. But who cared. And the blanket warmed her sufficiently. But she hated life. And she couldn’t sleep. Sleep, sleep….
…She woke with a start. Where am I, was her first thought. Then her second thought was, why am I here? As she awoke from the grog of sleep she remembered, slowly. A fight, her parents, her running, dramatic lights…It all flashed in her head and disappeared.
She leaned back against the tree and watched the birds, the sky. So peaceful. She knew she had to return to her house, but she didn’t want to. Not yet. She breathes in and out, in and out, contemplating whether she should go back or not. And when? She stood, wiped her clothes off and smoothed them. She lay the blanket over the limb of the tree and walked away from it. From freedom. From peace. She walked away and towards home.
Her real home.

******

The house was as it had been last night. The windows were sealed, glass shards lay on the sills of them. The living room was completely ransacked. She walked slowly, the crunch of glass beneath her feet mad her cringe. She found a chair and sat, thinking, crying, worried.
“ Ma’am?” a voice said, kindly, gently.
Janna looked up, “ What?”
The man smiled. He was a medic. His shiny name plate said Russ Gordon. Russ, a gentle name.
“ Who’re you? And are you okay?” He walked over and put his hand on her shoulder. So kind.
“ Yeah. I’m fine. Oh…uh, I’m Janna. I live here with my mom and dad.”
She bent her head. “ Janna, do you know what happened?”
She shook her head. No.
“ Sir,” she said, “ where are my parent?”
“ The hospital.”
“ What! Why!”
“ Yep. They are at th’ hospital. Your dad has some severe cuts on his body and a concussion. And your mom is, well, in a daze. We found her curled up on the floor in a fetal position with these here shards o’ glass ’round her. She was shaking. Good Lord above I have never seen anything like it.”
“ Is she okay?” Janna cared, not much, but she cared. She was young, but not innocent, old, but not wise. She was caught in between. A struggling turmoil within.
“ She’s fine. Janna, has your mom ever been like this?”
“ Yeah. It’s actually pretty normal, though what I saw was definitely worse than normal. But she always is like this. At times she is sweet and peaceful, but at others she’s just, like, crazy. Crazy as in she’s going around the house and locking the doors. She’s already sealed the windows and locked them. And she is just…like when my dad gets home she does this sometimes. She thinks he’s, like, a, you know, bad guy or something. Then she throws stuff at him.”
“ Schizo.” Russ mumbled.
“ What, “ Janna asks silently; Russ began to walk to his car , “ what are you talking about?’ she screams now.
She follows him out. From the front porch she sees him pull away.
“ Wait!” She begins to chase him. His car is speeding down the road. She stops, turns and walks home.

******

Janna sat in front of the computer screen. Schizo, what was schizo? She was still searching. Nothing, nothing, nothing. She had found schizophrenia, but she didn’t think her mom had it. Did she? She was no longer sure. Her mom had sealed the windows and she occasionally put heavy things behind the door. Her was schizophrenic. She was scared of something, a dual personality.

*****

The hospital smelled of death and illness. The walls were a faded, de-saturated green color. Like puke. The nurses walked around in their nursing outfits, dull and unexciting. Their faces were white, or so they seemed to Janna. White with bright makeup, unnatural.
Janna was walking slowly to her mom’s room. She was scared, confused, lost. Guide me, was all she thought. Guide me God if you’re out there.
Room 310. The door was glossy white and sterilized. She entered. Her mother was asleep on the bed, so calm, peaceful.
“ Why, mom? Why’d you have to go and freak out like that? Hm?” Janna sat down on the chair.
A knock-
Footsteps-
A hand on shoulder-
A familiar voice-
“ Honey, you okay?” Janna looked up. Dad. Bandages covered his arms and parts of his leg. A little bandage covered his head.
“ NO dad. I’m not. Why’d mom have to go and just, like, do this? WHY! WHY DAD!, “ she was screaming now, “ DAD! TELL ME DAD. WHY!”
“ Calm down honey.” Then Janna was in his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
Her dad began to weep.
Janna looked up at him, “ Dad?”
“ They’re gonna take her away? Your mother is gonna be taken away to…a better place.”
Janna pushed her dad away. “ What do you mean?”
“ They decided she was unfit to live with. She’s goin’ to Northern Abbey. A home for mentally screwed up people.”
Janna backed away, “ no. NO. NO!” And she ran. And ran. She ran through the hallways, down the stairs, through the parking lot.
Smack-
Moaning-
Wetness-
Seeing red-
People Screaming-
Panic-
And all faded to black…

******

…. “ NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Janna woke up, breathing hard, hand to her chest. She was sweating.
Her door slammed open. Her mom stood there.
“ YE okay honey?”
“ Mom?” Janna was confused.
“ Yes honey?” Her accent was beautiful.
“ Your not going to…To some Abbey?”
“ No. What ever put that thought in your head?”
Janna stood and went to her mom and hugged her. And began to cry.
“ It’s okay honey. It were a bad dream is all. Shhh. Shhh honey. It was a bad dream.”
A bad dream. That was true. All a bad dream.

I've Been Thinking A Lot...

I think a lot all the time, but lately it's been more and more and more and more. And i can't get rid of a few thoughts tumbling in my head. So, I thought I'd tell you all what I've been thinking and see what you think.

1. What I want to major in when I go to college? I WANT to major in film studies or creative writing or both, and a minor in theology. But is that what God wants me to do?

2. What is acceptable to put in movies? Violence I'm fine with, but nidity, langauge and such I'm iffy on.

3. Why do I believe in God and Jesus? Not neccesarily facts on why I should believe. BUt what is prompting me to believe. On this i came up with a few things: I feel like it, I want to, I need to, I feel lead to, but by whom or what am I being led etc.

Murder, Christian Authors

No i dont want to murder a Christian author. At all. In fact i am, as most people are, murder. But i enjoy good mysteries. Of any kind really, but murder in particular. And in the Christian world of literature theree ar mysteries. These mysteries usually have a stereotypical result: protagonist is problem plaugued and gets it resolved through Christ. Or it is they are Christians who deal witha moral problem. Not that thgese lots are in and of themselves bad it just becomes bad when the writer becomes cliche so as to not offend the reader, or to just get published by a Christian publisher.
The book BAck on Murder, is in my opinion, an exception. It is written and published by Christian people. It is not offensive in content: langauge, sex, etc. But it is a highly moral. The author is writing in first person from the view of a skeptic/cynincal unsaved cop, which is just perfect. Yes, some themes and such are mature but it, to me, is the best Christian crime novel i have ever read.

Avatar Movie Review

Okay i just saw Avatar and this is my review.

POSITIVE STUFF

Not much besides James Camerons beautifal, animation. Most sci-fi animation can be recognized as fake. 2012 was noticeable in its animation and easily seen as fake. Avatar on the other hand, was almost perect. It was filmed on a camera that showed James Cameron the world of Pandora, and the alien creatures completely digitized. My only comnplaint on the animation is the creature, which at times looke so fake, but most times very real.

NEGATIVE STUFF

Oay this could go on for awhile.

First for Sexuality/Nudity: there is no actual sex, but it is alluded to that Jake Sully(main guy) and the alien he falls in love with mated. Neriti( playedc hy Zoe Saldana) is nearly nude. The only thing covering her breasts are some flowers and stuff, and leaves nothing to the imagiunation.

Violence: OOKay i am not squeamish and this movie is not graphically violent, but still has some intense scenes.

Language: Okay i watched it on the ClearPlay DVD player, but the blanked out scenes were frequent with language. THere was at least 25 total swera words and not just d-mn and h-ll but b--ch s--t and a-- at least once.

Message/ Worlview: this was the worst part. It was NewAge in nature with a mother goddess is everywhere. It portrayed the US MArines as terorists and it also portrayed them as terorists. There was scenes with natives chaniting to Eiywa and stuff, really bad and disturbing.

CONCLUSION

A movie with only two great acting jobs by Sam Worthington(Jake Sully) and Zoe Saldana but otherwise terribly acted stereotypical sci-fi movie. Terrible language and near nudity. DONT SEE IT!! if you do, like I did, watch only for the animation which in my opinion is the only good part.

New Idea: What I am Reading?

New section is called What I am reading.

I am reading:

One by Richard Bach- great book
Monster by Peretti- awsome.

Book Review

A Loss of Sanity
Written by Jonas Weaver
For Mrs. Garcia's American Lit. Class

A world where nothing is hidden. Sure, people hide things and objects from others, but a world where no one's thoughts are hidden. Thoughts are unable to be hidden from others on New World. They can be buried, they can be drowned out by an overwhelming noise, but they can't be hidden. This is the setting, of the book The Knife of Never Letting Go. Written by Patrick Ness, this book tells the story of a boy named Todd. Todd, can't wait to become a man, officially. He counts the days and weeks till he becomes one. The story picks up with his dog Manchee and him walking through a swamp near his town, Prentisstown. As they walk, they feel a silence in the Noise. The Noise is what everyone's thoughts are. There is not supposed to be a blank area in the Noise, but there is. From there he has to run away from the town he has lived in his whole life. He Meets a girl name Viola, the significance of this is that he has never seen a girl before now. He can't hear her Noise but she can hear his.
The thing that makes this novel great, is that, one it is told from first person, but the grammar is not perfect, nor is it beautiful. When you read the grammar and the way things are spelled, it may disgust you since you may be used to fine polished literature. Oddly, this novel despite the imperfect grammar, due to the character, who also happens to be the narrator, turn out be very beautiful. The beauty is found in the originality of its premise and plot, and in the rugged syntax of the story. It draws you in.
The characters are almost unlikeable at first. You want to cheer for Todd, but you see how cruel he is deep down. You want to cheer for someone and you only really get to at the halfway point when Todd slowly becomes likeable. The character you cheer for, most of the time is Todd's dog, Manchee. Manchee represents a child's fragility. Not in a bad way, but in a way that shows how a young child, is not exposed to the realities of the world, and its depravity, but is still in its own little world where everything is right, and when something is wrong it is easily rationalized. Manchee also represents a sense of innocence, not found in the other characters. The other characters, Todd, Viola, and the violent pastor Aaron, all have a sense of unease at what they have seen.
The book is a good one and definitely worth the read. Once read it makes you think about the issues it raises. Such as, what if our thoughts could be heard by everyone? What would we do to protect our sanity? It also raises the issue of hypocrisy and conformity in the church. Aaron represents the church that is legalistic, and has twisted what God has said to their own meaning. Sadly, it is never resolved what exactly Aaron represents and what his full agenda is. This book is not for those who are looking for a happy read, it is an intense novel with a not-so-happy ending. So what would you do for the sake of your sanity?

Answer.

what i like about the Oath is that it freaky, beautifally written, and is just pure amazing. I got three used books today...YES!!! okay i am gonna post a review of Hangmans Curse by Peretti:

A school haunted by the suicide of a former student. A student cursing people whom he dislikes, by leaving a hangman drawing on their locker. Spider, poison, sound like a cheesy horror novel to you? Does it sound like something you would possibly find in the teen or kid section from an author who is only recently published and is trying to give you a scare? Well, the answer to both is yes, though the second one is partly wrong. Frank Peretti is a multiple time published author, in fact I would wager that he invented the concept of the Christian thriller/horror. He has few books for kids, the most well known of these are the Cooper Kids adventures, the less well known are the Veritas Project series, which include Hangman's Curse and Nightmare Academy.
Hangman's Curse is truly your stereotypical "horror" novel, with some more mature theme involved, of course. Hangman's curse is about a brother and sister and their parents. Unlike most families they bust drug rings, look into strange occurrences for the government, all from a biblical perspective. The book opens with them busting a meth drug ring. As the story progresses they end up in Oregon, trying to find out what is causing students to end up in the hospital in a coma. Along the way they meet a student who is involved in the occult, ironically he happens to be Goth. As it turns out he is not actually cursing them but having them bitten by poisonous spiders.
Like I said previously, in my introduction, it is a stereotypical cheesy horror novel. With all due respect to Mr. Peretti, an author whom I admire, this book is really, really dumb. It not only has a terrible, type-setting with boxes that contain part of the next page's dialogue, but the writing is just horrendous. If you are looking for a fun read, then yes this is a book to read, but if you are looking for a good read then this book should not be read. It is not frightening, and the way it is set up you know who the villain is, and again the writing is just not like Mr. Peretti's other novels. The opening lines of his novel Monster are better than the whole of Hangman's Curse combined. The whole concept seem poorly planned, is poorly written, and barely inches its way across the mediocre line to just-barely-better-than-mediocre.
Little kids may be frightened by this book. I first read it when I was eights, and i do not remember it frightening me. Parents who wish their children to be exposed to great Christian literature should let them read Mr. Peretti's Cooper Kid's Adventures, which are not great but infinitely better than Hangman's curse. Also parents will want to be forewarned, that despite being extremely tacky there are some intense scenes. This book does not shy away from dealing with the occult straight out, nor does it shy away from the evil that drugs are. I recommend this book to no one due to its terrible writing quality, and its cheesiness.

Essay on Christs Death

The Beautiful Butchering:
An Analysis of Christ's Death Upon the Cross

By
Jonas Weaver

Word Count: 917

There have been many events that we take for granted. Some of these events are vitally important while others are not. Certain ones are a matter of life and death while other are a matter of triviality. one such event that is important and a matter of life and death is Christ's death. in the modern church today there is a plague. It is an infestation of triviality added to Christ's death. that my dear friends is an issue that we dare not let slip by, because if we do we have just reduced the glorious death of our Savior to nothing more than the words, " He Died." The theological and eternal implications found in Christ's death are enormous.
The cross. Those two words hold within them many theological implications, two them are the facts the Christ died as a man, and all of it was allowed and done willingly by God. Crucifixion, is the most perfect death penalty. it makes the victim suffer by having them life themselves up by their ankles, all the while trying to hold themselves up by their wrists. the victim would slowly suffocate to death (1). This is how Christ died. The theological implication here is that he died as a man. Yes, he also died as God but he died as a man. This means that he felt every bit of pain. He Could have had the pain removed, but he didn't he felt every part of his body in Pain. This also tells us that he was willing to suffer as any criminal on a cross would (1). This leads into the next point.
The next issue is, how could God let his son die? HE can because he is God. The better question is, who caused and inflicted Christ's death? the answer is God (2). God's will was for his son to be put to death on a cross and become, " a curse" for us (3) and Christ willingly obeyed the will of his father (2). This may sound sadistic but it is true: it pleased God to kill him (3). God not only designed but allowed and Inflicted everything Christ suffered on the cross (2). that seems to me to be a very large theological implication: God allowed, designed, and committed the act of killing his son on the cross. That my friend is a theological issue that is worthy of a whole book. The idea of the perfect and holy God allowing His son to die and designing his death! (2) That is, to me, insanely deep and serious.
The Bible tells us that as soon as Christ died the veil in the temple was torn. This even bore an immense amount of significance. when we think of a veil we think of weddings and the bride having a veil over her face. We think, " Oh, that wouldn't be too hard to rip." This is not the veil mentioned in the Bible. The veil is nineteen feet high, sixty feet wide, and has the thickness of a man's hand (4). This veil was used to separate the world from the Holy of Holies, or in other word, from God (4). As soon as it was torn God had opened up the way to God for Jews and Gentiles (4). HE also made Christ the new barrier to him through salvation, which moves us to our next point.
This next point is one taught in all evangelical churches. some misunderstand it while other tout it without really caring. Those who are saved take it for granted and rather flippantly, " Oh we're saved, yeah, woohoo!" No one really realizes that the eternal implications are enormous(5). Imagine the worst pain you have ever felt, now multiply that by trillions and that is what hell will be like. Hell, is not some place where you can visit with your buddies all day and party all night, you burn alive basically. We are told that if God didn't spare his angels from hell why should he spare us (3). So realize this that whenever you hear the phrase you have been saved from hell, that is the best thing that could ever be said to you. You need to realize that if we were made to pay we would suffer eternally and would NEVER be able to achieve our own salvation. Thus Christ became a sacrifice for us thus ransoming us from our sins. Why do we take for granted? How dare we?
We teach salvation, but we teach it so much that it becomes old and stale. The implications are enormous. Christ saved us from hell, he also gave us access to the father (5). Again we tech that in church but we misunderstand that it is not anything we do that saves, but everything God does. We are unable to choose our own salvation only Christ redeems, not us. Sadly, few churches in America preach this anymore.
The theological and eternal implications found in Christ's death are enormous. This statement has been proven by the previous arguments. Nothing that has ever happened in history has had greater significance, than Christ's death. Compared to Christ's beautiful death the Holocaust looks frail and small. Compared to his death the Khmer Rouge seems lacking in significance. Christ died. He was butchered. The truth is nothing has every been as significant or a beautiful as the butchering of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that you will realize that.

Song Lyrics from Showbread.

the lead singer is JOsh POrter

Artist: Showbread
Album: Life, Kisses And Other Wasted Efforts
Song: I Am A Machine Gun
It turns my stomach every night
like scattering bats in disrupted flight
the idea of ideas and tired points to pierce the skin
little children lining up and losing all of their time

Losing all their time

I don't have the time for my own lifetime
when you blink my stay here is over
batting those long eyelashes, baby save yourself the trouble

And separate from this strangling cable
I have won victory over death
won like an automatic weapon
fingers itching, itching for my trigger

I am a firearm, a machine gun

Walk this tired planet, make sand castles in the tide
I am not my own, so I will not call this place my home
I do not belong to me, and I do not have a care to see
my hands reaching out for wind,
like you're reaching out for wind

Counting the days, counting the scars
counting the miles to get this far
and looking back at nothing, looking back at nothing
and I turn to look up at your flags laughing
thinking of how sad it is to see you capture butterflies in mason jars

I rip my rib cage open and proclaim, I belong to Christ

Artist: Showbread
Album: Life, Kisses And Other Wasted Efforts
Song: My Heart Is Yours
She's driving these nails of restless anti-submission into a head
full of the naive light of day
and then bury this ax with my name into the belly of the never ending stay
the torment refuses to lift off the ground
and the contradictions don't make a sound
until they're all just screaming at her

So take my heart and make it yours
this is the last thing I have left to give to you
So take my heart
I'm not doing anything with it, and I'm tired of being alive

It won't go on separated by a chasm of denial
someone is only one to us and maybe she will finally come to me
invitations written in violet over pale thin wrists

So we pretend we're so far apart when we're really arm in arm
she won't look at me
she feels my heartbeat the lips, the arms, the embrace
and the things she whispers in my ear
the letters mailed across the ocean

So take my heart and make it yours
this is the last thing I will ever give to you
So take my heart
I'm not doing anything with it and I'm tired of being alive

Then the eyes roll back
cast out by the gleaming lights
she was playing make believe
she was putting these scars on our hearts scars,
hearts, putting scars on our hearts

Shimmering sweat for the swollen shame that squeezes my lack of a stomach
I wish I was everything that you wanted when the plane took off
she didn't realize there was an absolute selfishness
wrapping strangling hands around her pale neck
to choke an adolescent out of her
and I started to weep as the glass just broke into so many shards around her
and I cried and walked in a circle behind her a million miles away my love,
my heart, where are the words to say?
because I am so tired, I am so tired today my love,
my heart where are the words to say?
Because I am exhausted, I am so tired today

1 Cor. 1: 18-20: A Diagnosis

18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."[c]
20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
1 Cor. 1:18-20

This verse tells us an ultimate truth. Christ's death is "foolishness" to people who are suffering since they dont see how someones death can bring some one to life.
and what is preached is foolishness.

honestly we Christian myself included take Christs beautifal butchering for granted. Forgive my usage of butchering. We say , " HE died...yipikiyea." We celeberate once each year...but its a whole year celebereation.

Matthew 27: 32-56

The Crucifixion
32(AS) (AT) As they went out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They compelled this man to carry his cross. 33(AU) And when they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull), 34(AV) they offered him wine to drink, mixed with(AW) gall, but when he tasted it, he would not drink it. 35And when they had crucified him,(AX) they divided his garments among them by casting lots. 36Then they sat down and(AY) kept watch over him there. 37And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, "This is Jesus,(AZ) the King of the Jews." 38Then two(BA) robbers were crucified with him,(BB) one on the right and one on the left. 39And(BC) those who passed by(BD) derided him,(BE) wagging their heads 40and saying,(BF) "You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself!(BG) If you are(BH) the Son of God, come down from the cross." 41So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, 42(BI) "He saved others;(BJ) he cannot save himself.(BK) He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43(BL) He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, 'I am the Son of God.'" 44(BM) And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way.
The Death of Jesus
45Now from the sixth hour[f] there was darkness over all the land[g] until the ninth hour.[h] 46And about the ninth hour Jesus(BN) cried out with a loud voice, saying, (BO) "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" 47And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, "This man is calling Elijah." 48And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with(BP) sour wine, and put it on a reed and(BQ) gave it to him to drink. 49But the others said, "Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him." 50And Jesus(BR) cried out again with a loud voice and(BS) yielded up his spirit.
51And behold,(BT) the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And(BU) the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of(BV) the saints(BW) who had fallen asleep were raised, 53and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into(BX) the holy city and appeared to many. 54(BY) When the centurion and those who were with him,(BZ) keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said,(CA) "Truly this was the Son[i] of God!"

55There were also(CB) many women there, looking on(CC) from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee,(CD) ministering to him, 56among whom were(CE) Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joseph and(CF) the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

okay the first verse i put in bold is important, the other is interestinng.

Gall was a substance that ws used to numb the pain. Jesus refused it. he did so so that he could feel every bit of pain. That is nopt to be taken for grantyed. he felt each part of the pain.

Article Summarizing POints From Marvin OLasky

“Social justice” is a topic that can divide conservative and liberal Christians, but Dr. Marvin Olasky urged a Bryan College audience to consider the term in light of “Biblical justice.”

Dr. Stephen Livesay, left, and Dr. Marvin Olasky

Dr. Olasky, editor-in-chief of World Magazine, visited Bryan March 18, at the invitation of President Stephen D. Livesay and spoke to a group of faculty, staff, students, and visitors on the matter.

“We have to ask, what is social justice and what we should be doing as Christians,” Dr. Olasky said. “Does it mean economic redistribution? Does it mean equality, and, if so, what kind: equality of opportunity, equality of rights, equality of results?”

He suggested several concepts to keep the discussion from devolving into an emotional argument:

Think logically.
Grant that there are people on the political right and left who care about the poor—and people who don’t.
“If you are a conservative and say, ‘Whatever I earned and have is mine,’ remember that your parents and the social and economic environment you are in contributed to your success.
“If you are on the liberal side and think goods should be distributed equally and the government should have a larger role,” consider the possible negative effects of receiving support that was not earned.
Acknowledge that anything society does to help the poor, “and that is something Christians should do,” can either hurt or help. “In the 19th century, the poor were regarded as being in the middle of the (economic) ladder. They could either go up or down. Today, they are viewed as being at the bottom of the ladder.”
The Bible is the source for wisdom in this area. “The Bible uses words for “justice” 150 times, for righteousness 100 or more times, and there is an understanding that justice and righteousness go together,” he said. The Bible teaches righteousness and justice that glorifies God. We are supposed to help the poor because it makes God happy, and biblical justice shows faith in God, not government.”
“What about the rich?” He said Scripture condemns the rich who use their wealth to accumulate power and more wealth by corrupting government.
“What do we learn from human nature? What the Bible teaches.” He said we are not to trust individuals, the free market system or something else, but to trust God.

In response, he suggested believers challenge individuals who espouse social justice “in an unbiblical way. If social justice is used as a hammer to push toward a political position, that is not biblical.

“Go out and start doing what the Bible says; help the widows and orphans, help immigrants, visit those in prison. Do it, don’t just yak about it.”

The Society: A Tale of PErversity

This is the poem i wrote:

Get off my telephone!
Just dance and ride my disco stick and everything,
Will be fine.
Just dance and all will,
Be Solved.
Stoned Stoners walking throughthe streets,
Yelling, " whose kid is this?"
They have lost a tooth,
And are now searching for that lost night.
What has happened?
Why do we let perversity run amuck in our culture?
Movin' your hips like, yeah
Movin' your head like, yeah
Guess what?
Hasn't ende anything and just made you seem like,
a prostitute to some
Wait for JUliet,
Well I am sorry to say she seems to have disappeared.
Cause this our love story,
Just dancing and movin our hps tosolve the worlds problems
What has happened?
Why do we let perversity run amuck in our culture?
Now we want people to remember me
We, guess what? Most will probably not, though
Most will remeber the twilight of vampire and werewolves
...And a pale girl
Who wanted to inadvertantly take the "dive"
And Join the..
Amensiac next door,
Wo happens to be a spy
Check your local theater, bookstore, or music store,
And you'll find ten things:
One, Vampire with there hearts gone
Two, Teen Sex or Sex with abstinence as an undertone
Three, Zombies who wish they were stars for George Romero
Four Wizards Five, Witches who star with James PAtterson
Six, Strange Violence, reminiscient of horror films
Seven, anti-war hippies
Eight, rebellion against parents and authrities
Nine, scorn for religion, mainly Christianity
Ten, Freedom from restriction... lets be nude tree huggers, eh?
Dear God PLease Help
Us as we struggle against the paganism of this world
Let the perversity die
And let ust starts to glorify you.

Progressive Movement

Jonas
3/17/10

The De-formation of America

There have been numerous great men in history. We know about them; we hear of their great accomplishments. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. John Adams, chief drafter of the Constitution. George Washington led a group of soldiers through the War of Independence. By the end he only had five soldiers left who would stand with him. These men were all great, but sometimes it is those we rarely read about or know little about that have the greatest affect on us as a nation. Some of these men and women we have heard of. Some for the better and some for the worse. Here are just a few: Thomas Jefferson, Robert Lafollette, Hiram Johnson, John Dewey, Margret Sanger, Theodore Roosevelt, and Woodrow Wilson, to name just a few. But the main things that will be dealt with in this essay are who some of the original leaders were, and the philosophies and the key issues that they wanted dealt with. Finally, what do Christian doctrines say about this and were Dewey’s education reforms based upon this movement?
Robert Lafollette was probably the first “official” Progressive. When he became governor of Wisconsin, he instituted new laws and regulation on certain things, which caught the attention of others. Though he and other governors were the first signs of Progressivism, Theodore Roosevelt was the first to actually gain power and push the Progressive agenda. He pushed for women’s rights’ reform, but my belief is that two people had a greater influence on us as a nation than Theodore Roosevelt. These two people were, in my mind, the embodiment of this movement and also are the start of the modern liberal movement.
The aforementioned people were Margaret Sanger and John Dewey. I will start with Margaret Sanger. But to start with her, I need to give you some background. In the 1800s Charles Darwin published his book On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection; or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. This is a well known book from which we get the theory of evolution ,but you have only to read the title to find racism and segregation. “ Favored races” which race is favored? According to Darwin it was the least “ape-like”, or, in other words, white people. After this was published, people began trying to get “ape-like” people into zoos and museums. In fact they did this to a man in the Brooklyn Zoo, saying he was an ape. Now, Margaret Sanger followed Darwin when it came to preserving “favored races”. She is the founder of Planned Parenthood, and was a believer in eugenics. So why is she one of the Big Two in my mind? Because now we have more than the Holocaust and the Killing Grounds in Russia, combined, in deaths through abortion. We have millions of little babies dead in landfills because they have been aborted. So again why? Because she pushed Progress. This was a “woman’s right to choose”; women needed this right. This ideology gave women “rights” just like Progressives wanted. Now onto the second person.
John Dewey was the second big guy in the Progressive Movement. He pushed for educational reform. Well, you say, that can’t be to bad…can it? Yes it can, because his idea was to remove the Classical Education and just teach kids practical information and be able to hold jobs. Here’s the problem: the classical model wanted to build children up to think for themselves, have a values-based life, and to be able to hold leadership positions and be independent business men. This man, John Dewey, gave the government control of education. That is a problem, because the government will indoctrinate them 40 hours a week. What is a Christian kid supposed to do? What is he supposed to believe? You think he will believe the Bible and what the body of Christ teaches, or the 40 hours of indoctrination? Dewey’s method was socialistic and very much Progressive. One issue was, that his education idea said everyone can be a leader in our culture by being in leadership roles. That meant women had the right to be above men, if they wanted. They could get a degree and take a leadership position. Dewey wanted this. It was not values-based, this was pagan. He wanted boys and girls to grow up with just a basic knowledge of life applicable things. Today kids learn only math which applies here and there.
Progressivism is not in any way a Christian ideology. At all. It removes God from the picture. It takes away certain rights and it is just plain paganism. It starts by taking Christian ideals away; mainly women being allowed in leadership position above men. Finally, it destroys the concept of “one nation under God”. Instead it replaces it with this mantra, “one nation under natural stuff, and lets allow kids to just learn from the government, and give women the right to vote and by the way….let’s make an unlimited government, and everything is just a party.” This is movement based on reform, actually it should be called deform.

A Poem for my Other Home Country

Germany:

Strength through time,
Metal worker, fishers and farmers,
Maker of beauty
Harsh, beautiful, enduring
Country of strength:
They say you are a killer, I believe them
Since I have seen the images of dead
They say you are evil, and I believe them
Since I have read of the evils you have done
I am told your people lack pride, I believe this
Since I have seen how you have been beaten down for your crimes
The fact remains, you have done this
But you are still strong:
Tell me of another country in which endurance is king
Show me a harsher land and I will follow you there
Harsh,
Beautiful,
Enduring,
Rebuilt upon the ashes of the past
You hold on, beaten and battered,
By those who want you brought down.
You stand by the forge, scars upon
Your hands, and grime on your face
Callused hands take hold of
Your long held-in suffering and hold it out
Enduring through time and space,
Your face holds signs of grim determination
Determination, to hold on to your
Well worn place as an empire in the world
The beautiful harshness of time shows
Upon your ragged face.
Determination, harsh beauty, and continual
Strength through time.

I hate to tell you this world death is what saved us. Death was never so beautifal. We die. Simple we all will die. I want to live for awhile longer but honestly I cant wait till I die and get to go and live with God. I am not saying go blow your head off to get to heaven sooner I am saing dont be afraid of death as a Christian.

An Essay

The Fall of Hollywood Jonas

Hollywood. That name gives hope to some, entertainment to others and for others still, it is a life, a job. What few people see, is that Hollywood is one of the most influential mediums in our world today. It effects everything. Nothing is out of its reach. It is the monument of moral bankruptcy. It is probably the most successful industry when it comes to pushing forward perverse, and unbiblical ideologies. Now we have to ask ourselves what caused this? What started the cultural trend of excessive violence, and strong language, and sexuality on the screen for millions to see? This is what will be explained.
Brent Bozell, commenting on the show Nip/Tuck, said, “If Ryan Murphy is correct, and this is the direction "cool" TV is going, if this is "the future," then where will Hollywood stop? Where is the bottom of the barrel located, or is our desire for "fabulously lurid" entertainment a bottomless pit of nihilism? "Nip/Tuck" is not just a show that’s completely inappropriate for impressionable children to watch. It’s a show adults should be convincing other adults not to support. The sanity of our popular culture depends on our objections.”
This is such a true quote, especially the last part. So, how did Hollywood get this way? It became a pagan entity because of a man named Karl Marx, and a student of his ideology, Georg Lukacs. Both of them wanted to remove God from society. Guess what? It worked. Now we have a Hollywood that says dads are stupid, Christians are too fundamentalist and biased, and that love makes the world go round.
What started this cultural trend of inappropriate content in movies? My belief is that the first movies with violence in it for the sake of violence, was Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock. This movie contains scenes of blood that before that time were not accepted. In some of the Westerns before this movie there was blood, but it was a bloody nose or something. Then there was Bonnie and Clyde, and The Birds, both of which either had a large amount of blood or in the case of The Birds, terrifying attacks from birds. These were the starts of excessive violence in movies, and the removal of strong Christian morals, that came with the feminist and Marxian revolution, and now in our modern day the atheistic revolution.
Sadly, we now see the fruits of those peoples’ labors. We live in a “counterfeit Reality” to quote Bill Jack. This is a sad truth. Why is this? Yes, I said it was Marx ad Lukacs, but what started them on this path? One word is an easy answer for this: Evolution. Evolution kills people, and removes God and ethics from the scene. Well, it keeps ethics, but they are relative to the individual. If you don’t believe it kills people, look at Columbine, The V-Tech shootings, and look at our movies. Our movies have sex outside of marriage, they have people being decapitated, and the language is just horrendous. This all comes from evolution. We remove morals that are instituted in God’s word and replace it with what we believe is correct. But how does it kill people? This is how it kills, not always physically, but spiritually and morally. Okay for example, you go to the theaters and you are watching the movie, enjoying your popcorn, when suddenly someone is decapitated. The blood is everywhere you see each little detail graphically. This is in your mind forever. It is basically “torture pornography” to quote a magazine on the movie Hostel. This is what evolution has brought us. We now have people killing people in reality and in movies, we have people in various states of undress on screen, and even better we have people flippantly taking God’s holy name in vain.
When it all comes down to it, Hollywood has turned into a breeding ground of sexual perversion, violence, gore, and swearing like a sailor. We see this in the first chapter of Romans, where God gives man over to three states of depravity. Number one is, Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
We see this in our modern Hollywood, as well as the second one, Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
This also is becoming more common on TV and in movies, most recently with Bruno. And finally Hollywood fulfills number three, Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

The third thing covers all that Hollywood is. As the first quote stated, our sanity rests on our objections. No one in our modern world protests, they approve of it. What happens to a nation when we support such brutal entertainment? That culture will die, literally and figuratively, because we will become a culture of all types of perversion. God help us. This is how Hollywood became, probably, the most morally bankrupt medium in the world. There is only one hope, that is that Hollywood will die and fade into nothing, and be replaced by an independent Christian film industry. There can be no reform for Hollywood, because none in Hollywood want to change it. It is the breeding ground of dissent and hatred. Why would we want to reform something so far gone? Go and change the world for Christ by praying for the fall of Hollywood from the culture sphere.

OKay the last part I 100% believe

We fail to see that this is not what we are here for. No, I am not saying its wrong to watch the Super Bowl, or anything but at least dont let entertainmment consume your life.

Movie Review: With Fire and Sword

I higly reccomend this movie if you have NEtflix. It is all in POilish and based off a book of the same name. It is about a man who falls in love with a princess, but another dude is in love with her. Poland is inturmoil and there is war. Some Cautions, this will look like PLuggedin's review system.

Positive Stuff

All the charecters are follwers of Christ and acknowledge him often. THe main character is staying faithful to the princess since she is his pledged wife. God is used alot

Sexuality and Nudity

There is one kiss at the end of the movie, and there is nudity at a distance of the princess but nothing is seen. There is also brief rear nudity of a man and boy who's clothes have been stolen. There is a bar waitress with a gown with a lot of cleavage. After conquering a castle there is an...orgie..if that is the right word, of sorts and a man and woman are seen together, no nudity and ver briefly.

Language

Son of a b---- is used about five times. THe LOrd's name is taken in vain at least ten times, and d--- is used about five times. also the s-word is used at least three times.

Othe Negatives

THe charecters drink and smoke.

Violence

A man cuts three heads off and blood is seen and the heads fly. A character chops on a mans head and he is seen falling down a ladder with blood coming from his face. A MAn is hung. There is also a witch who is killed and then staked to the ground, and blood flies as she is staked.

Conclusion

A Short Story

1

The house smelled of death, not of battle, but of sickness. The family did not know what to do, their brother had come home from the city and he was pale as death. They prayed to their gods, nothing seemed to work. Something had to be done, so they called the Shadow. The Shadow was the healer, if that is the correct word, yet the town of this family hated his kind. They were known to worship the Deepness. Nothing seemed to go right when a Shadow came.
He worked on the sick man but nothing changed. he asked if he could try a new technique, the family gave him the go ahead. What they heard from behind the closed door of their brother’s room scared them. It sounded as if a knife slid out of its sheath then a gurgle and sound of heavy breathing. Then it was over. The Shadow continued to work for ten more minutes, then came out and announced that he is dead. The family wept.
For three days the family and town mourned. The tradition was to put his body in a large coffin and then burn him, and when the time came to bury him, this family was not allowed to do so, since they had consulted a Shadow. They just buried him. Darkness covered the house like a cloak.
Three weeks later the grave was dug up and nothing left but an empty coffin. The sister ran screaming back home. Their brother was not dead.
Every other week they heard of deaths all across the land. With each death they found small puncture wounds on the arms and neck. The bodies were pale. At first they thought that their death had been cause by loss of blood, but there remained some blood in the bodies. They finally decided that they had died of blood loss and fear.

2

The mother, who had suffered deeply, was walking along the road at dusk when a rush of wind and black came towards her. She fell, shocked, to the ground. Her eyes were closed tightly in fear, thinking it was a dream. When she opened her eyes there stood a man in dark clothing. His face was as pale as death with bright red eyes, gleaming like fire. Fire that wanted to burn her up. He smiled. His teeth were white, two of which seemed to gleam slightly red. What was this creature?
HE knelt beside her and whispered, " Mother." a hiss in his voice.

3
they found her limp form on the road two punture wounds on her arm and one on her wrist.

This is a vampire story, the way they were meant to be, not like TWilight's, Kiss me sparkly Edward. Vampires are demons not heroes and i attempt to have an original story about them in this while still retaining their demonic presence. They are demons, and demons are bad. We have an unhealthy obsession with the supernatural, and we need toi change, and impact people for Christ and not demons.

The Death Penalty

here is the biblical basis for it:

Genesis 9:6
"Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made man.
1st Samuel 15:1-3
1 Samuel said to Saul, "I am the one the LORD sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the LORD. 2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy [a] everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.' "

Proverbs 25:26
Like a muddied spring or a polluted well
is a righteous man who gives way to the wicked

If we give way to the wicked then we are like a muddied well, case in point if we give way to a murderer then we are a muddied well.

Exodus 21:13-15
13 However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate. 14 But if a man schemes and kills another man deliberately, take him away from my altar and put him to death.

15 "Anyone who attacks [a] his father or his mother must be put to death.

"Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. 13 However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate.

God lets death happen.

Exodus 22:22-24
22 "Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. 23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.

This is God speaking

Exodus 32:26-28
So he stood at the entrance to the camp and said, "Whoever is for the LORD, come to me." And all the Levites rallied to him.

27 Then he said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.' " 28 The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.

God commanded the Levites to kill 3,000 people.

Numbers 25:3-5 (New International Version)
3 So Israel joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor. And the LORD's anger burned against them.

4 The LORD said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of these people, kill them and expose them in broad daylight before the LORD, so that the LORD's fierce anger may turn away from Israel."

5 So Moses said to Israel's judges, "Each of you must put to death those of your men who have joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor."

Numbers 35:29-31 (New International Version)

29 " 'These are to be legal requirements for you throughout the generations to come, wherever you live.

30 " 'Anyone who kills a person is to be put to death as a murderer only on the testimony of witnesses. But no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.

31 " 'Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.

1 Kings 20:35-37 (New International Version)

A Prophet Condemns Ahab
35 By the word of the LORD one of the sons of the prophets said to his companion, "Strike me with your weapon," but the man refused.
36 So the prophet said, "Because you have not obeyed the LORD, as soon as you leave me a lion will kill you." And after the man went away, a lion found him and killed him.

37 The prophet found another man and said, "Strike me, please." So the man struck him and wounded him.

I am dong a paper on cults.

Beware The Antichrists
The world is filled with religious groups. With every religious group there are followers and of course when you have millions of adherents to your religion, like Islam and Christianity then there are bound to be a few people who take things to extremes. One such cult that will be discussed in this paper, is Mormonism, while many people have heard of them few truly know what they believe, and of course no cult paper is good without a totally new religious movement known as Raelianism, this is not an offshoot of any religion but is very strange.
Not long ago in the news the truth came out about a cult know as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, this cult was held in a compound in Texas. Like any good cult leader, their leader Warren Jeffs held them under his thumb. They were shut off from the world and the world was shut off from them. This branch of the Mormon church practiced the long banned, tradition of polygamous marriage. This an extreme case of a cult but there are those types out there. What is a cult? There are three definitions out there one is the secular and the other the Christian, while the other is the one we will use for this paper.
Definition number one is from Webster’s New Student Dictionary, 1964, it says that a cult is a cause, principle, or system of belief held to with ardor and faith. This seems like a good definition, it looks concise and nearly nothing in it is disagreeable. Sadly, this definition is a cop-out, it is so broad that any religious group, based off of this definition is a cult. Christianity is a cult, Islam is a cult, Buddhism is a cult, and of course the religion of modernism and naturalism is a cult. Many people hold to this definition but it is not true. Maybe the next definition is better.
This next definition is from the European American Evangelistic Crusades, they state that a cult is any group of people that worship anything or anyone other than Jesus Christ and believe anything contrary to his word. I truly like this definition it would be the definition I hold to if it weren’t for the word ‘and’. The first part of this definition is fine since it states that a cult is anyone that worship anyone or anything other than Jesus Christ, but the second part is what throws this one down the drain. The word ’and’ in this sense means that it has to be the first and the second part, not just one or the other. This definition removes Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Jesus Army and other since they worship Jesus. The final definition is the best.
The final definition states that a pseudo-Christian cult is any group that adds to God’s word, subtracts from the deity of Christ, and multiplies the terms of salvation. This definition encompasses all religions, cuts and sects that preach something contrary to God’s holy word. Sadly this definition I nearly never abided by since few know it.
Christianity is the worlds leading religion, and with any large religious group there are bound to be some rather peculiar sects and cults. Many people know about Mormonism, of course few know what their basic beliefs are, and how contradictory to the Bible it is. Some of its adherents don’t even know how “wacked” out it is.
Their founder was Joseph Smith. When he was a teen he prayed for guidance on which church to join, this was the first major spiritual event in his life. The second event happened in 1823 when the angel Moroni appeared to Joseph. Moroni told Joseph about a group of golden plates that would he would later translate into what would become the Book of Mormon, and the Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants as well as three other minor books. Their basic belief can be summed up in one sentence, “ As we are God once was; as HE is we can be.” This sums up the beliefs of the Mormon faith. They believe that we, before we were born, lived in heaven with God, then we were sent here to earth as test. Once we die we either go to the Celestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and the Telestial Kingdom, it is a three-tiered heaven. This is contradictory to Scripture since there is only one heaven and we cant be like God.
Aliens, the search for life on other planets, E.T., we are surrounded by science fiction. We love the intrigue and mystery behind the theory of life on other planets, no cult does a better job at this then Raelianism. This is a cult that is growing in popularity. Its history, and beliefs tie in very well so I will explain both in one paragraph.
In December 1973 a French journalist by the name of Claude Vorilhon felt an urge to go to a mountain. There he met a four foot creature that “could have passed as human”. This creature told him these words: “We Were the ones who designed all life on earth you mistook us for gods, we were at the origin of your main religions, now that you are mature enough to understand us, we would like to enter official contact through an embassy.”
Raelianism is the “atheists religion” they don’t’ believe in God or the supernatural what about the, cough, aliens? They also practice a “free love” sort of thing at their seminars since they believe that we are to enjoy life as it is.
Understanding these two faiths, Raelianism and Mormonism, is important since they both are growing and are so open about how they twist the Bible to mean what they want it to. My conclusion is brief but it is because there is one passage in the Bible that warns about this in such a great way, and shows that we need to understand our own worldview.
Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
John 2: 18-20
